Getting Started
In your first class, our goal is for you to walk away both with an excellent workout and some practical exposure
to skills you can use immediately.
To introduce you to Krav Maga, you will be in class with other level one (beginner) students for their normal
session. You won’t need any special equipment and only need to wear something comfortable and tennis
shoes.
The first 15 minutes of every class is focused on conditioning our bodies. In this period we work on basic
exercises to improve our speed, endurance, flexibility and strength.
Then we proceed to work on techniques. In a typical Level One class, we will work on one or more basic
striking techniques necessary to drive away an attacker. Kicks, punches, elbows, palm strikes, etc. These are
crucial. From the first class, you will practice these against targets gaining practical knowledge and hitting
something as hard as you want always helps with stress.
The next part of class we will work on drills that focus on specific, common types of attacks. These drills
prepare you to respond to chokes, headlocks, being on the ground, etc.
Finally, we put everything together. Our objective is that you leave every class with more of an understanding of
real self defense and how to use it effectively.
You pace yourself through the class, trying to push the intensity. We are confident you will leave class having
had a great workout – one that will save your life!
